Dr Simon Briggs is an Infectious Disease and General Physician working at Auckland City Hospital and in private practice at the Mercy Specialist Centre. He trained at Auckland University completing specialist training (FRACP) in 2002. He has worked as a physician in Auckland since this time. He is currently Clinical Director of the Infectious Disease Service at Auckland City Hospital.
Simon’s expertise includes the management of adults with:
- HIV infection
- Extrapulmonary tuberculosis
- Orthopaedic related infections including prosthetic joint infections
- Pyrexia of unknown origin
- Recurrent cutaneous abscesses
