Clinical Associate Professor John Collins is a Renal physician or nephrologist working at Green Lane and Auckland City Hospitals and in private practice at the Mercy Specialist Centre .
He is a graduate of Otago Medical school (1974) and underwent his post-graduate training in Medicine and Nephrology in Wellington before taking up a Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Southern California and Los AngelesCountyHospital from 1981-1984. On return to New Zealand he took up an appointment as a Renal Physician at AucklandHospital in Nephrology and Kidney Transplantation where he still practices.
John’s special clinical interests and expertise include the management of adults with chronic kidney disease, dialysis, kidney stone disease, renal metabolic disorders and kidney transplantation: He has published widely with more than 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
